It’s with my beta readers now. It’s a fun short story intriguing because it was a cut chapter from one of the books. I’m still working out the bugs on how to structure the beta reads for the novel.

Eeke, The Rat King makes his debut in The Heist. He is kind of like the Chewbacca of my story in the sense that he embodies loyalty, strength and unwavering friendship plus the only one who understands him is his best friend Py.
Py also makes his debut in the story. He’s a half dragon, half cat shifter. As a result he’s a fire breathing house cat. However because he’s a half dragon he’s looked down upon in dragon society and ended up serving time as an indentured servant to a witch working as her familiar for a full dragon’s crime he didn’t commit.
The third thief is O’Lora, queen of the vampires. I’ll leave her speak for herself.
Spoiler alert: it has some foreshadowing to the series plus introduces three secondary supporting characters but not big spoilers.
